Momiji 🍁🍁 That’s how the Japanese refer to maple leaves and I’ve been taking in the beauty of them for the last week. It’s just so beautiful at this time of year, everywhere you turn is another vibrant scene. Requesting permission for fly by ✈️🗻 EPIC travel moment this morning when my @japanairlines_jal flight buzzed Fuji-san!! I lucked into a beautiful clear morning but I was in that window seat deliberately! Japan Airlines has a great page on their website where you can see if your flight will have a Fuji view and if so, what side you need to sit on - it definitely paid to plan ahead on this occasion!! Huge thanks to JAL in Australia for opening up this seat for me 🤗 My Japan adventure has started!! . London calling I’ve just finished a whirlwind work trip to London. It’s been quite a number of years since I’ve had any time in London and it was so lovely to be back (even if it was more meeting rooms than tea rooms 😁). Tickled Pink You would be too if you were on the island if Burano, an easy day trip from Venice! Sadly I’m not here right now, I just came across this shot randomly on my phone and it got me thinking about the eye popping colours, quaint houses and cute canals - it’s a photographer’s heaven! Also a tourist heaven however, so I’ve often thought about going back to stay overnight and enjoy it without the daytripping hordes. Follow your passion That’s what I keep getting told when trying to figure out my ‘niche’. I still have no idea what that is but what I do know is wildlife encounters are one of my all time favourite things, and Africa in particular holds a special place in my heart. So after much dithering and trying to justify the expense when I don’t earn anything from my photography, I thought bugger it, and I’ve booked a weeks photography tour in Kenya during the great migration next year!! SQUEAL! Tortoise and the Hare 🐢🐇 Seeing this grand old dame being overtaken by a little whipper snapper reminded me of the tortoise and the hare. While it would be thrilling to zip along at high speed there’s also something to be said for taking your time and having a chance to take in the scenery. Travel is a bit like that too. When I was young I was all for 10 countries in 10 days and cramming in as much as possible. However now I really love taking my time and having a chance to absorb the small everyday scenes and encounters that add up to a far richer experience.
